Жил бүрийн тавдугаар сарын 15-ны өдрийг “Олон улсын гэр бүлийн өдөр” болгон тэмдэглэх шийдвэрийг НҮБ-ын Ерөнхий ассамблей гаргаснаас хойш 31 жил болж байгаа бол Монгол Улсад 2003 оны “Нийтээр тэмдэглэх баярын болон тэмдэглэлт өдрүүдийн тухай” хуулийн дагуу 21 дэх жилдээ тэмдэглэж байна.
2024 оны Олон улсын гэр бүлийн өдрийг “Гэр бүлийн олон янз байдлыг хүлээн зөвшөөрч, бэхжүүлэх” сэдвийн дор тэмдэглэж байгаа нь гэр бүлийн олон хэв шинж, янз байдлыг хүлээн зөвшөөрч, гэр бүлд тохирсон, хэрэгцээтэй үйлчилгээг үзүүлэх, хөгжүүлэхийг улс орнуудад уриалж байна гэж ХНХЯ-аас мэдээллээ.
